Kyle – Anthony Kaufman

St. Thomas Aquinas High

Kyle-Anthony is a four-year member of the swimming and diving team.  He is a National Merit Commended Scholar and has received honors on the Principal’s Honor Roll for 9th through 12th grades. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and the English Honor Society.  Kyle-Anthony has accumulated 205 documented volunteer service hours and has applied to the University of Florida and Georgetown University.


Morgan Lusk

St. Thomas Aquinas High

Morgan is a four-year member of the lacrosse team.  She was selected 2017 Miami Herald Player of the Year – Goalie.  She has received honors on the Principal’s Honor Roll all four years of high school.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and is also a member of Campus Ministry.  She was also selected 2017 All American Goalie, Academic All-American Goalie, Broward All School Team Goalie and 1st Team All-Region Goalie.  Morgan has accumulated 314 documented volunteer service hours and will be attending the United States Coast Guard Academy.


Brandon Latchman

Coral Springs High

Brandon is a two-year member of the volleyball team and was also a member of the wrestling team.  He is a recipient of a 2017 Coral Springs High Megaphone award, a Most Improved award, and a Best Team Player award – Right Spiker.  He has received honors on the “A” Honor Roll, the “B” Honor Roll.  He is an Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar.  He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, where he serves as Vice President, the Spanish Honor Society, Business Professionals of America (BPA), the National Honor Society, and the Health Occupations of America (HOSA) Medical club, where he serves as Historian.  Brandon ranks #20 in a class of 625 and has 436 documented volunteer service hours.  Brandon has applied to Northeastern University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Jordan Sylla

Northeast High

Jordan is a four-year member of the football team and a four-year member of the wrestling team.  He was a 2015 – 2016 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) District Runner-up, a 2016 – 2017 FHSAA District Champion Wrestler and the recipient of a Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) Don Cifra All-Academic award for Football LB/OL.  He is a member of Mentoring Tomorrow’s Leaders, and the National Society of High School Scholars.  He is a recipient of a National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence.  He also serves as a Student Athletic Trainer for Northeast High.  Jordan ranks #21 in a class of 354 and has 149 documented volunteer service hours.  Jordan has applied to Florida Gulf.


Ellen Warrich

Piper High

Ellen is a three-year member of the cheerleading team and the competitive cheerleading team, where she serves as Captain.  She was a member of the 2017 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Runner-up cheerleading team, and was also selected as a member of the 2017 – 2018 Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) All-Star Cheerleading team.  She is also a member of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), where she serves as Representative.  Ellen ranks #162 in a class of 587 and has 304 documented volunteer service hours.  Ellen has applied to the University of Central Florida and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.


Isabella Chiurillo

Cypress Bay High

Isabella is a two-year member of the soccer team and was also a two-year member of the junior varsity soccer team.  She was also a member of the track team.  She is a National Merit Semi Finalist, an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, and a recipient of a Cambridge AICE Diploma.  She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where she serves as Head of Community Service and VP of Ext. Affairs.  Isabella ranks #10 in a class of 1154 and has 541 documented volunteer service hours.  Isabella will be attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Coleman Nelson

Cypress Bay High

Coleman is a four-year member of the golf team.  He is the recipient of a 2016 Sun Sentinel Honorable Mention – All-County award.  He is a member of the Cypress Bay High Newspaper staff where he serves as AD Designer/Editor.  He is also an Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar, a member of the School Advisory Council and the National Honor Society.  He ranks #87 in a class of 1106 and has 236 documented volunteer service hours.  He has applied to the University of Florida and the University of Miami.


Haley Mallion

St. Thomas Aquinas High

Haley is a member of the soccer team and she was a member of the volleyball team.  She was the recipient of a 2016 Sun Sentinel All County/Defender award.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, where she serves as Service Coordinator, the National Spanish Honor Society, the National English Honor Society and the National Science Honor Society.  She is also a member of Raiders for Autism and the CARE club.  She has 261 documented volunteer service hours.  She has applied to Villanova University and Auburn University.


Nadine Belony

Piper High School

Nadine is a three-year member of the cheerleading team and was also a member of the flag football team.  She has received honors on the Principal’s Honor Roll and the Straight A’s Honor Rolls.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and Florida Future Educators of America.  She is a Junior Coach for the City of Tamarac and a volunteer at her church with the Children’s Ministry.  She ranks #63 in a class of 567 and has 251 documented volunteer service hours.  She has applied to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and the University of Central Florida.


Martin John Grady Jr.

St. Thomas Aquinas

Martin is a four-year member of the swimming and diving team, where he serves as Captain, and a member of the water polo team. He has received honors as a Nation Hispanic Scholar and a National Merit Semifinalist.  He is the recipient of a St. Thomas Aquinas/Wendy’s High School Heisman award.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society, where he serves as Secretary, and is also a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Choir.  He has 343.5 documented volunteer service hours.  He has applied to Vanderbilt University and the University of Florida.

Theresa Buscemi

Saint Thomas Aquinas High School

Theresa is a member of the volleyball team. She was selected to the 2015 Broward County Athletic Association All-Star Volleyball team as Libero/Defensive Specialist. She has received honors on the Principal’s Honor Roll. She is the recipient of a College Board Advanced Placement Scholar award and a Kevin O’Connell Scholarship award. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the Quilt and Scroll Journalism Honor Society. She has 180 documented volunteer service hours. She has applied to Mercer University and the University of Miami.


Marisa Aleguas

Cypress Bay High School

Marisa is a four-year member of the cheerleading team, where she serves as Captain. She was selected to the 2015 Broward County Athletic Association All-Star Cheerleading Team. She is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, a Silver Knight nominee, the recipient of an AP English Language award and an English 2 Honors award. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the History Honor Society, where she serves as Outreach Director, the Math Honor Society and the Nutrition club. She ranks 22 in a class of 1088 and has 947 documented volunteer service hours. She has applied to Yale University and Duke University.


Jamie Sammarco

West Broward High School

Jamie is a four-year member of the cheerleading team and a two-year member of the soccer team. She has received honors as a TOP 5 Student for Chemistry, an Academic award for World History and Spanish 2. She is CPR and First Aid Certified and is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. She is a member of Fight the Fight, where she serves as Communication Officer. She is also a member of the Broward County Athletic Association 2015-2016 District Champion Cheerleading team for her district. She ranks 39 in a class of 636 and has 172 documented volunteer service hours. She has applied to the University of Alabama and the University of Central Florida.


Tyler Gaffney

Stoneman Douglas High School

Tyler is a four-year member of the lacrosse team. He was selected Sun Sentinel 2015 All-County Second Team – Offense and Sun Sentinel 2014 and 2015 All- District Offense. He is an Advanced Placement Scholar. He is a member of the National Honor Society, The Senior Board, where he serves as Senator and the Student Government Association. He ranks 65 in a class of 742 and has 195 documented volunteer service hours. He has applied to the  university of Florida and Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida.


Michael Cuminale

Piper High School

Michael is a four-year member of the baseball team. He has received honors on the Principals Honor Roll and was Student of the Month at his high school. He is a member of the Student Government Association and the National Honor Society. He is a volunteer T-Ball, Soccer and Flag Football Coach for the City of Sunrise and the recipient of a City of Sunrise Exceptional Dedication award. He ranks 91 in a class of 627 and has 558 documented volunteer service hours. He will be attending Broward College.


Jerome Lindo

McArthur High School

He is an all-star player who has exhibited character, sportsmanship and leadership in practice this week and on his team during the season.  His coaches describe him as high character, hard worker, college ready and qualified, as well as great leader. He is easily one of the elite running backs in south Florida, a Mustang all the way.


Corsedia Dukes

Coconut Creek High School

Cordesia is a four-year member of the cheerleading team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, where she serves as Vice President, Elite Ladies of Sophistication, where she serves as Historian and the Student Government Association, where she serves as Secretary. She ranks 22 in a class of 289 and has 1202 documented volunteer service hours. She will be attending Bethune-Cookman University.

Nicolas Schwarz

Cypress Bay High School

This scholar-athlete is a four-year member of the water polo team, where he serves as Captain.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Jewish Student Connection, where he served as Vice President and President.  He was selected to the United States Water Polo – Florida Under 18 State Championship team, and is a Volunteer for the Special Olympics.  He was also a member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).  He ranks 18 in a class of 1052 and has 248 documented volunteer service hours. He has applied to Brown University and Vanderbilt University.


Shannon Anglin

Fort Lauderdale High School

Shannon is a three-year member of the track and field team and a two-year member of the volleyball team.  She was a 2013–2014 and 2014-2015 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) District Runner-Up – Middle Front for volleyball and was selected to the Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) All-Star Girls Volleyball Team – Middle.  She was also a 2012-2013 District Runner-up for the 400m Dash and a Finalist for the 2013-2014 – 4X4, 4X1 and the 4X8.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and was a member of the Student Government Association.  She served as a Class Representative for 2013 – 2015.  Shannon ranks 58 in a class of 429 and has 240 documented volunteer service hours.  Shannon has applied to the University of Florida and the University of South Florida.


Huntley Sawyers

Coconut Creek High School

Huntley is a three-year member of the football team.  He was also a member of the track and field team.  He was selected 2015 Diamond Sports All American – Defensive Lineman.  He was a member of the National Honor Society.  He is a volunteer Tutor for the YMCA.  Huntley ranks 44 in a class of 245 and has 133 documented volunteer service hours.  Huntley has applied to the University of South Florida and Florida International University.


Leysha Caraballo

Pembroke Pines Charter High School

Leysha is a scholar-athlete and a four-year member of the swimming team, a three-year member of the track and field team and a two-year member of the cross-country team. She was a 2013 Florida High School Athletic Association Regional Top 15 Cross-Country Individual Runner, 2013 FHSAA Cross-Country State Qualifier, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 member of the FHSAA District Championship Swimming Team. She is a two- year member of the Yearbook staff, where she served as Layout Editor and Editor-in-Chief. She has received honors as an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Hispanic National Merit Scholar and Most Valuable Layout Artist for Yearbook. She ranks #10 in a class of 410 and has 723 documented volunteer service hours. She has applied to the University of Florida and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.


John Persaud

Miramar High School

John is a scholar-athlete and a two-year member of the basketball team, where he serves as Captain, a two-year member of the cross- country team and a member of the track team. He is a member of the Student Government Association, the Drama club and the National Honor Society. He was selected 2014 Miramar High Most Improved Basketball Player. He ranks 139 in a class of 573 and has 17 documented volunteer service hours. He has applied to Nova Southeastern University and Florida International University.


Jake Dooling

Saint Thomas Aquinas

Jake is a scholar athlete and a four-year member of the football team. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has received honors on the Principal Honor Roll for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. He is a member of Relay for Life and Healing Hearts and has 132 documented volunteer service hours. He has applied to the University of Notre Dame and the University of Florida.


Clair Bailey

West Broward High School

Clair is a scholar-athlete and a three-year member of the golf team. She was a 2014-2015 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) District 2nd Place Qualifier. She is a member of the National Honor Society, where she serves as a Fund-Raising Committee Member, Best Buddies, where she serves as Events Coordinator, the Golf Club, where she serves as Captain and the National Science Honor Society. This young lady ranks 128 in a class of 638 and has 520 documented volunteer service hours. She has applied to Nova Southeastern University and Florida Gulf Coast University.


Kaitlin Grote

Monarch High School

Kaitlin is a four-year member of the volleyball team.  She was selected to the 2015 Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) Girls All-Star Volleyball Team as Setter.  She was selected 2014 Sun Sentinel Honorable Mention – Setter.  She is a member of the Volleyball Club, where she serves as Vice President and she is a member of the Drama Club.  She serves as Manager for the Monarch Boys Volleyball and Boys Basketball teams and had the lead role in the Monarch High School musical.  Kaitlin ranks 152 in a class of 359 and has 200 documented volunteer service hours.  Kaitlin will be attending Indian River State College.

Christina is a four-year member of the swimming and diving team, where she serves as Captain.  She is an Advanced Placement Scholar and on the Principal’s Honor Roll from 2010 – 2014.  Christina is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, where she serves as Junior Liaison, the Key Club, where she serves as President and the Indian Student Association.  Christina ranks #10 in a class of 626 and has 589 documented volunteer service hours. Christina has applied to Rice University and the University of Miami.


Christopher Wilde

Miramar High School

Christopher is a three-year member of the soccer team.  He is an Advanced Placement Scholar and a Silver Cord recipient.  He is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, where he serves as President, the National Honor Society, the Doctors Without Borders Club and the Science National Honor Society.  Christopher ranks 29 in a class of 629 and has 305 documented volunteer service hours.  Christopher has applied to the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University.


Justin Lessem

Justin is a three-year member of the lacrosse team.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and National Forensic Honors.  He is a recipient of a Cypress Bay Lightning Award of Excellence and is an AP Scholar with Distinction.  Justin ranks 29 in a class of 1067 and has 580 documented volunteer service hours.  Justin has applied to the University of Florida and the University of Virginia.


Rachel Lesnik

Cypress Bay High School

Rachel is a four-year member of the lacrosse team.  She was selected 2011 All-District Midfield by the Sun Sentinel and 2012 and 2013 Honorable Mention Midfield by the Sun Sentinel.  Rachel is an AP Scholar with Distinction and the recipient of a Cypress Bay Lightning Award of Excellence. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the English Honor Society and the Online Copy Editor for the Cypress Bay Newspaper – The Circuit.  Rachel ranks 64 in a class of 1067 and has 70 documented volunteer service hours.  Rachel will be attending the University of Michigan.


Amber Hunter

West Broward High School

Amber is a four-year member of the swimming and diving team, where she serves as Captain.  She placed in the Top 5 in the State Series meets and this year placed in the Top 10 at the State Finals with a personal best in the 100 Butterfly.  She is a member of the Yearbook staff, where she serves as Editor in Chief.  She is the recipient of an English I Honors, Advanced Placement Human Geography, and Advanced Psychology Outstanding Achievement award, and she is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction.  Amber ranks #8 in a class of 630 and has 143 documented volunteer service hours.  Amber will be attending New York University.

Reagan is a four-year member of the cross-country team and a four-year member of the track and field team.  She is a member of the English Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society, where she serves as Secretary.  She has received honors as an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and was a Mu Alpha Theta member and competitor.  Reagan ranks #8 in a class of 1045 and has 198 documented volunteer service hours.  Reagan has applied to Rice University and Georgia Technical University.


Thomas Turner

Cypress Bay High School

Thomas is a three-year member of the volleyball team and a former member of the tennis team.  He has received honors as an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and as a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, where he serves as Vice President, Mu Alpha Theta and the Science Olympiad Club.  Thomas ranks #7 in a class of 1045 and has 390 documented volunteer service hours.  Thomas has applied to Yale University and Vanderbilt University.


Jennifer Sirianni

West Broward High School

Jennifer is a four-year member of the golf team.  She was selected 2011 and 2012 Sun Sentinel All-County Girls Golf Honorable Mention and 2009 and 2010 Sun Sentinel All-County Girls Golf Third Team and qualified for the 2010 and 2012 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Golf Tournament.  She is a member of the National Honor Society.  She is the recipient of an Outstanding Achievement award for Geometry.  She is also the recipient of the 2010-2012 West Broward High School Bobcat Award of Excellence.  Jennifer ranks 18 in a class of 616 and has 356 documented volunteer service hours.  Jennifer will be attending the University of Central Florida.
